I remember when I was a child, I always doze off when during math lectures, but when the teacher handles us blocks that we can stack for for addition and subtraction, I never felt sleepy even for a second and I understood math well. Learning through playing is, indeed, an effective and enjoyable learning tool f for children. I think the reason for this is it is enjoyable and the child learns to interact with his or her environment which will be essential for developing his/her cognitive and social skills. Good to hear that schools in India are implementing Learning through playing.
